Our Braised True Aussie beef with spiced infused coconut milk has kurma and root vegetables for a well-rounded Malay-style recipe. The coconut milk brings a creamy texture that is rich and full of flavours, and is ideal for serving with rice over! A perfect pick-me up recipe to break the fast this Ramadan. INGREDIENTS
- 250g The Meat Club Premium Australian Beef Stir Fry Strips
- 300 ml Coconut milk
- 4 gm Cinnamon stick
- 2 gm Star anise
- 2 gm Clove spice
- 4 gm Cardamon spice
- 25 gm Kurma powder
- 10 gm Turmeric powder
- 30 gm Shallots, sliced
- 10 gm Garlic, sliced
- 10 gm Ginger, sliced
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 50 gm Potato, large cubes
- 50 gm Carrot, large cubes
- 100 ml Cooking oil
The blend
- 80 gm Shallots
- 30 gm Garlic
- 30 gm Ginger
- 30 gm Green Chili
- 20 gm Coriander leaves
Garnish
- 30 gm Tomato, cubes
- 5 gm Large red Chili, sliced
- 5 gm Large Green chili, sliced
PREPARATION
- Pre-heat the wok with cooking oil over medium heat and add shallot, garlic, ginger, cinnamon stick, star anise seed, clove and cardamon spice. Saute the blended items together with the kurma and turmeric powder.
- Add the beef cubes and saute together with the blended herbs and spices. Add coconut milk, potato and carrot and simmer for 30 minutes until the beef is cooked and tender.
- Season with salt and sugar and garnish with tomato, red and green chili for garnish. Serve with steamed fragrant rice.
